The Retreat area at St Ann’s Well Gardens Spring Festival is located in the Sensory Garden, opposite the tennis courts, and offers a range of holistic therapies, yoga, massage, and lots more.
Hi, my name is Anika Grimm and I offer group classes, 1-1 sessions, yoga therapy, workshops and yoga holidays.
Yoga can be many different things to different people and does not always have to be all about postures or what happens on the yoga mat.
On the most simplistic level when working with any form of yoga, it should first of all be appropriate for the student.
In my classes modifications are often used and variations offered, especially in my capacity as a yoga therapist.
The main focus during posture (asana) practice is on linking breath and movement; through this an ability to direct the mind is created, moving away from busy day to day thoughts.
I also work with different breathing techniques, visualization and meditation. I offer weekend introductory courses, workshops and I run yoga holidays in Spain, France and Morocco.
I have had extensive training and I have been teaching for over ten years.
My qualifications include:
British Wheel of Yoga diploma (BWY dip)
British Wheel of yoga TPOT (able to assess student teachers)
Association of yoga, yoga therapy diploma (AYS)
Member of the British Council for Yoga therapy (BCYT)
Thai yoga massage therapist
I still continue to further my studies with my teachers Dave Charlton and Ranju Roy
I am going to offer free consultations at the festival and the ability to book a free consultation for May/June, as well as reduced rates for 1-1 sessions (5 pounds off), yoga therapy (first session 8 pounds off, 40 instaed of 48) and thai yoga massage 5 pounds off. All offers for May/June 2013.
